Recalling the significant performance improvement from v7.2 to v8.0, I was a bit surprised to see the overall trend of the simulation speed of EnergyPlus is getting slower. The chart below shows the same models take more than 20% of time to run on average in v8.2 than in v7.0. Luckily the progress of computer hardware during the period is more than enough to make up for this.

Hi dear Dr Yi
I just Would like to Thank you very very much for jEplus and jEplus+EA.Both Of Them are too much useful and Practical. Thanks alot Dear Dr Yi
All The Best
Navid
As Dear Dr Yi gave us good Information,I Offer All To Read Below AsWell ,please.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has released EnergyPlus V8.2.0, the first release of EnergyPlus built on C++ source code. For more information about New features of EnergyPlus V8.2., please visit: http://www.energyplus.gov

This is a long awaited release, because the code base of EnergyPlus has changed from Fortran to C++ from this version. Personally I think this is a right move, as the number of Fortran programmers has been declining for years. C++ will feel more familiar to many, including those C, Java and Objective-C programmers, who represent the largest three communities according to some statistics.
There has been quite some speculations and lively debates about the pros and the cons of this transition (see here, for example) before the release. One of the concerns was that performance of the program will suffer, since C++ is not as geared towards scientific computing as FORTRAN is. Well, we were eager to see the impact for ourselves; so we ran the jEPlus benchmark set as soon as the new E+ was installed. The chart below shows the results. Basically, the simulation speed for v8.2 is slower than v8.1 in almost all test cases. On average the simulation time is 15% longer, with a few cases reaching 60+%...
Hi EveryBody:
I am learninig to use jEplus Tool v1.5 preview 05 and I am practicing On example_E+v8.0, which has two Search strings[orientation & Outside_Air],But @@Outside_Air@@ isn’t inserted like @@orientation@@ in IDF editor !! Why Please?? I mean,Use(@@.....@@) in The places Which jEPlus- setup up a parametric project in 3 minutes video Showed us in IDF editor .
Also I Have Checked Search strings in (IK_OfficeModels_v8.0_1.4 File, Type1_OD.imf) in jEplus+EA Software Folder, Search strings weren’t inserted like That Video Too!!
I Have just learn to Insert Search strings in IDF editor similar to jEPlus- setup up a parametric project in 3 minutes video. Is it Enough Dears??
Of Course,I am not Familiar With EP-Micro.maybe It is The reason.
I Really Appreciate your Time.
Regards
Rose
