inserting Search strings in jEPlus - Rose - 09-29-2014

Hi EveryBody:
I am learninig to use jEplus Tool v1.5 preview 05  and I am practicing On example_E+v8.0, which has two Search strings[orientation & Outside_Air],But @@Outside_Air@@ isn’t inserted like @@orientation@@ in IDF editor !! Why Please?? I mean,Use(@@.....@@) in The places Which jEPlus- setup up a parametric project in 3 minutes video Showed us  in IDF editor .
Also I Have Checked Search strings in (IK_OfficeModels_v8.0_1.4 File, Type1_OD.imf) in jEplus+EA Software Folder, Search strings weren’t inserted like That Video Too!!
I Have just learn to Insert Search strings in IDF editor similar to jEPlus- setup up a parametric project in 3 minutes video.Is it Enough Dears??
Of Course,I am not Familiar With EP-Micro.maybe It is The reason.
I Really Appreciate your Time.
Regards
Rose

RE: inserting Search strings in jEPlus - Yi - 10-01-2014

Dear Rose,

The way that @@Outside_Air@@ was used in the example is indeed relating to the EP-Macro functions (see E+ docs here: http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/pdfs/auxiliaryprograms.pdf). Basically, the line below defines a macro (using an EP-Macro syntax) named "FA_RATE" to represent the outside air rate to be filled in later by jEPlus.

Code:
!- Outside airflow rate, m3/s/person:
!- Sensible range between 0.0~0.1
##set1 FA_RATE @@Outside_Air@@
...

"FA_RATE" is then used in several places (see below) in the model file. Although you can insert the search tag "@@Outside_Air@@" directly at those places as required, using a macro is a cleaner solution.

Code:
 HVACTemplate:Zone:FanCoil,
   SPACE1-1,                !- Zone Name
   All Zones,               !- Template Thermostat Name
   autosize,                !- Supply Air Maximum Flow Rate {m3/s}
   ,                        !- Zone Heating Sizing Factor
   ,                        !- Zone Cooling Sizing Factor
   flow/person,             !- Outdoor Air Method
   FA_RATE[],               !- Outdoor Air Flow Rate per Person {m3/s}
   0.0,                     !- Outdoor Air Flow Rate per Zone Floor Area {m3/s-m2}
   0.0,                     !- Outdoor Air Flow Rate per Zone {m3/s}
   ...

Regards,

Yi
